Don't we feel, education system is too much into exams and grades, it has always been like that right. Isn't it time already for the old and traditional memorising based evaluation methods to change. More interactive, creative and interest based education methods can to be brought in . Is the 20+ years of basic education too long and repetitive and sometimes losing relevance in the fast moving real world.
Shouldn't there be customized curriculum and learning practices for different kids, unlike the One Size Fits All approach we have today.
Does the current education process really equip a person to face real life problems.
Have u ever given a thought about the below points;
1) Do they help us handle pressure, does the education system teach you mind relaxing, thought controlling or focus techniques.(Some schools have started; but that should be an absolute requirement for every institution to teach)
2) Is there enough training in the basic education system about handling finances, money management and other investment related things. Isn't it an absolute necessity in the real world.
3) Does the education system teach you how to save someone's life/give necessary first aid, in times of an absolute emergency. (How many of us can really do that; till the patient reaches the hospital or a doctor)
4) How to handle failures, bounce back asap, move forward.
5) How and why should someone Stand up against things like bullying, harassment, shaming. How this affects a person.
6) How to have a work-life balance/work-life harmony. What could be the practices that can be followed. This can be taught from a very young age at school. Made to start following the practices to have a better school work-life balance, so that it can be applied later in life too.
and many such absolutely vital requirements, that I might have missed mentioning.
Many of these things, are learnt by people after they finish their basic education. When they come into the real world they learn it through experience, all by themselves mostly.
So then, what did we do for 20 plus years. We surely learnt a million things at school and college, without a doubt. But some key things can be taught more, better and in a customised manner, so that each individual is better prepared to face the real world with more confidence.
I feel the basic education methods and practices definitely need to change for the better. Like every system needs an update, a version change, our education system the world around certainly needs a major update immediately!
